Why Do I Collect AOL CDs?

When asked why I collect America OnLine (AOL) CDs, my basic answer is always the same:  I really don't know why, but why not? Why does anyone collect anything?  Think of AOL CDs as simply round baseball cards, and everybody collects those!  All the variations of AOL CDs are interesting, and it's certainly a challenge to find new ones.

The thrill of finding a new Disk for my collection is a feeling not-soon-forgotten.  It's kind of like an Easter egg hunt.  Remember when you were a kid and you looked forward to hunting for Easter eggs?  You would find one egg, and then another, and soon you wanted ever more eggs.  You really didn't need more, but you knew there were more out there, so you kept on looking.  Even when you thought all the eggs had been found.  I'll bet days later you were still looking for eggs.  Well, that's how I feel about collecting AOL CDs.  My Disk basket isn't full yet, and I know there are more eggs (Disks) out there.  All I have to do is find them.
